PT. Mitra Wira Pratama selected as valve providers include Pressure Safety Valve with the LESER brand and Rupture Disc with the KSPC brand for the 220MW Rantau Dedap geothermal power plant in South Sumatra which was built by a collaboration partner between PT Rekayasa Industri (Rekind) and Fuji Electric Co. Ltd.
The project developed by PT Supreme Energy is spread across Muara Enim, Lahat, and Pagar Alam districts of South Sumatra, and is located about 225 km from the capital city of South Sumatra, Palembang.
It covers more than 35,440ha, at elevations ranging between 1,000m and 2,600m, within the Bukit Besar volcanic complex that produces hydrogen sulfide H2S is an aggressive gas, triggering acid corrosion, in this case called hydrogen sulfide corrosion.
Therefore, a Rupture Disc is needed to protect the Pressure Safety Valve from the media so that it does not come into direct contact with the internal Pressure Safety Valve and prevent corrosion from occurring. The impact is that Pressure Safety Valve will be used in the long term during the project and save customer costs.
